Earlier this month, President Amy Norman was a guest at the Devon and Somerset Law Society Annual Awards Dinner at the Riviera International Convention Centre in Torquay. The event was hosted by immediate Past President Sue Aggett. The dinner was due to take place on 1st March but due to the uncharacteristic snowy weather it had to be postponed and in the meantime the Society held their AGM and appointment Stephen Mahoney as President. Amy was lucky enough to be seated next to Stephen, who was able to take a back seat for the evening, and was looked after extremely well!
The special guest for the evening was Mike Tindall MBE who was interviewed by news and sports broadcast journalist Mark Tyler. It was certainly a no holds barred interview with Mike answering every question thrown at him with wit and humour.
DASLS and the C&NWLS are part of a joint group of 6 local law societies from across the country. The purpose of this venture is to share views, knowledge and ideas on issues affecting local law societies and their members and when appropriate make joint representations. Particularly, the benefit of this union is a greater voice derived from a combined membership of more then 4000 and a strength in numbers in matters such as consultation responses and parliamentary lobbying.
Amy would like thank DASLS for inviting her to be a guest at their dinner.
