SUMMARY:Family Law Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Neil Christian will be discussing: \nPublic Law Outline – Re-Launched \nWhat will be covered: \n\nThe re-launch and key points to be aware of\n The President’s view and likely approach of the Judiciary\n How are we as Practitioners to approach the relaunch\n\nNeil is a Family Law specialist\, appearing in all manner of complex Public Law applications such as those involving non accidental injury and the death of children. He also specialises in cases involving child sexual exploitation\, honour-based violence\, interfamilial sexual abuse\, and familial homicide and has been instructed in niche cases regarding medical treatment; secure accommodation; parents with mental illness/issues of mental capacity; immigration issues; wardship; and adoption.  Neil represents parties in “difficult” private law disputes concerning allegations or findings of serious domestic violence\, sexual abuse\, and parents who are implacably hostile or suffer psychological or psychiatric issues. He has extensive experience acting for rule 16.4 Guardians. He is also instructed in cases with an international element\, including international child abduction and applications to remove children from the jurisdiction. Neil regularly delivers talks at our family law seminars. \nDaniel Currie will be discussing:  \nTransparency in the Family Court \nWhat will be covered: \n\nThe Transparency Implementation Group;\nThe Open Justice Family Court reporting pilot; and\nRecent case law regarding transparency and disclosure.\n\nDaniel’s practice encompasses all aspects of family Law and the Court of Protection. In care proceedings he has appeared in the High Court in his own right and as a led junior. His cases involve issues such as sexual abuse of children\, honour-based violence and non-accidental injuries. Daniel is developing a practice in matters relating to deprivation of liberty and secure accommodation and has acted in matters involving complex legal issues such as the exercise of the parens patriae jurisdiction of the High Court. In private law matters\, he has an interest in matters involving the acquisition and termination of parental responsibility. Daniel represents parties within matrimonial finance proceedings of a range of complexity\, from needs cases to high value matters in the High Court. Daniel delivers training and seminars. He recently gave a talk at the Matrimonial Finance Team Breakfast Seminar series and has also delivered a seminar with an international element\, including removal of a child from the jurisdiction. \nBook here
