Cheshire and North Wales Junior Lawyers Division

Written by Torquil Downing

Re-established in 2025, we have spent the last few months building up the committee, and planning events for the coming year. After a successful Relaunch Event at Oddfellows, Chester – which was very kindly sponsored by Linenhall Chambers, we managed to raise £200 for Chester Aid to the Homeless. Our ‘Summer Social’, was held at Rooftop Social, Chester on Thursday 17th July. Another great turnout on the night, kindly sponsored by Price Slater Gawne Solicitors in aid of The Wallich.

You can see some photos here on our LinkedIn page.

Rooftop Social was a great venue to host at, with lots of games as ice breakers and even some live music to finish off the event!

Who we work with

We work closely with Cheshire and North Wales Law Society and other Junior Lawyers Divisions across the country to help strengthen event and networking opportunities. Our committee is comprised of a range of people from different stages in their legal journey, from paralegals to solicitors to law students.

Essentially, we aim to provide aspiring, trainee, or up to 5 years PQE lawyers with the necessary skills and opportunities to network with other firms, chambers and more to help strengthen connections. We will be hosting an array of events throughout the year and looking forward to hosting the Annual Quiz and Curry Night in November, which was historically a CNWJLD event. We understand the difficulties of networking, particularly within the legal community. Our events are tailored to be fun, comfortable, and a mix of both formal and informal, and aid junior lawyers to build upon their own personal development.

If you, or someone you know may be interested in membership, please visit our social media channels, or contact the email address: CNWLSJLD@gmail.com for more information.
